What was impressive about today was in Jamie’s absence, we had for the first time a near full complement of players, four, yes four subs, giving me lots of options, which he never seems to have.

Started off with lots of pressure and we soon found ourselves 2 up, with Madison firing the ball past a stranded keeper and then Kirsty seeing her long range strike dipping under the bar. The rest of the half we had most of the play, with multiple opportunities being saved by the Bedwell keeper, or just narrowly missing. Katie, then reopened the scoring for us, only for a single lapse in concentration to allow Bedwell to score with their only shot on target in the first half.

Second half again we had control, but Bedwell did have a couple of chances, during one of these, our keeper Danni took a knock to her hand as she juggled the ball, from a well struck shot, that then spun off the post, she was replaced by our reserve, reserve keeper Grace, who must have been watching Danni’s earlier juggling, and managed replicate it and just keep the ball, out of the net. These two chances where against the run of play, as like the first half, we had lots of chances, but could not put the ball in the net, that was until we got a free kick outside the box, and Connie got her foot on the end of it, to poke it past the keeper, and that’s how it ended 4 - 1 to Bury Ladies.

The ladies played some really good passing football today, playing out from the back, and confidently passing in the midfield and putting balls through for the forwards to get on to. There was a couple of plays today that stood out, the first was from Freya who managed to backheel flip the ball over her opponent, and then turn and collect it, leaving the player bewildered, which was caught on camera by our Bury independent reporter, and second was the one two interplay's from Grace and Libby starting in their own area, then moving the ball between themselves up the pitch, through midfield and putting a through ball to Katie.

Well done to Lauren, and Ellie, who have only played for us for a couple of games, and are slotting in well to the team, and for Ruby who made her debut for us today.

Danni, Lauren, Ruby, Gracie, Trixie and Libby where all solid at the back, not allowing Bedwell many opportunities. Midfielders Ellie, Kirsty, Connie, Freya, Grace and Storm all controlling the midfield and winning that crucial first ball, which the allowed forwards Kitty, Katie and Madison to pepper the Bedwell goal.

As I mentioned earlier, the match was watched by Burys own independent reporter Simon, who was quoted to have said during the match "Wow what great passing and great football !!!"
