The Blacks travelled to Harlow Town today, and after a tense and entertaining game last time round, this one didn't disappoint either.
Owen Pope captained the team today. The first quarter started well with Alexander Prior making a couple of good saves as our midfield and defence worked well to cover each other. We were unlucky to go into the first break a goal down.
Another two tight quarters followed, with Devon Oakley scoring an excellent break away goal, and this was followed up by some excellent striker positioning by Nixon Osman Downes to tap in for a second. We started to link up well during the middle period of the game and some excellent position covering and the players looking for the killer passes to their team mates. All our players were encouraged to take players on and to take a shot today, and both Mason Jones and Teddy Glynn did this and were unlucky with their shooting opportunities. The 3rd quarter finished with Harlow pulling one back and we went into the final quarter 2-2.
Sadly we did concede a couple more goals in the last quarter, one being especially bizarre. But take nothing away, a great team spirit and another entertaining game for both the players and spectators.
Well done Blacks! Have a great Easter break.
