With the heat ramping up we welcomed back Amelie and Lilly-Grace to the match day squad from their respected injuries.
We started very brightly and most of the game was played in the middle of the pitch with neither team making much advantage.
Alysia, Amelie and Ava all had chances first half and Katie had a shot from distance go just wide.
But as we saw with Potters Bar its very small margins that can make a difference in a game with a player gambling here and there and that was the case for all their goals.
Keith and I said after the game how happy we were with the girls as their heads never dropped and we finished strongly in the last 15 minutes and looked the more likely team to score at that point. Amelie hit the post and the shot rolled all the way along the line and hit the other post, so unlucky.
Lilly Grace, Alysia, Maisy and Amelie all went close once more as we had a bundle of chances so we were very pleased with all the creative oppertunities and passing we produced and the girls in this respect did what we asked.
Keep playing like this and the wins will come once more.
A little bit more discipline to read the bounce of the ball at the back and to keep our concentration is something we need to take away and work on, but very small things in an otherwise positive display.
Alysia and Ella-Mae were our players of the match and well deserved.
Alysia always a threat today with the captains arm band which she took in her stride and lead by example, mixing her play up with choosing some times to pass and sometimes to take the player on. Excellent display which deserved s goal.
Ella-Mae took it upon herself to move from a central midfield position when attacking to exploit the space. Extra top marks as this wasnt something we had given her to do so we like this creative thinking. More of it please.
All the girls worked hard and we are really seeing our play of passing in our matches, just need to move on to the next level now. Well done All.
