Superb Fightback

Playing uphill again first half seems to be the story of many games lately as we lost the toss.

We played most of the game however in the opposition half despite this and fashioned the first few chances with Amelie Powis and Alysia Lawrence both going close. We then got caught on the break by a hopeful ball played forward by Hitchin and they went 1-nil up.

After a few more wasted chances by us we then found ourselves 2-nil down as Hitchin capatlised on a corner with a good finish.

Many other chances came with Amelie, Alysia, Rhianna and Katie all going close. We then had a golden chance to get one back after a hand ball in the box by Hitchin. Katie Marshall bravely stepped up and found the outside of the post. Good effort Katie and unlucky.

Madison then made a super save and kept us in the game. Maisy and Meg also doing some great work in defence and battling to keep possesion for us.

Half time we wondered how we were two goals down and didnt feel this was fair. The fightback was on!

We came out all guns blazing and quickly grabbed a goal back. Some brilliant passing in the final third between Alysia and Amelie and the cross came through to Katie who lashed it home.

Cute play between Alysia and Amelie from a quickly taken short corner. Alysia makes a run across the box and confuses the defenders. Amelie crosses the ball in and under pressure their defender puts it into the back of their own net. It was nothing we didnt deserve.

We had a few more chances after this and the opposition didnt look like getting out of their half. We were unlucky in the end not to grab the win, but what a comeback.

So pleased with all the girls today, the fight and heart shown to not let this one get away from us was brilliant and some super play in the final third with the passing between each other paying on from the training we have done.

Maisy and Katie share player of the match today. Maisy for her super defensive work in the first half and Katie for some brilliant playmaker work and goal in the second. That said it was hard to call and im very proud of all the girls today.
