First tournament of 2025 for the Lions & like last year, they entered the Stevenage Futsal half-term festival. A round robin tournament involving a mixture of U10 & U11 girls teams.

• Game 1 vs Stevenage Futsal
A great battle against the tournament hosts. The Lions were unlucky with Harper & Letty both going close but then Ellie in goal produced a sensational save whilst Daisy was superb in defence.

• Game 2 vs Fairlands Firehawks
Another great battle between two competitive teams. The Lions started well but a lapse in concentration from a corner allowed Fairlands to score. The Lions responded brilliantly through a determined run from Sophia.

• Game 3 vs Hitchin Belles
A amazing performance where the Lions were aggressive & tenacious in everything they done. Many Goals from Scarlett then Letty brought much delight to the team.

• Game 4 vs COPFC - Gold Cup Final
Against an older & more experienced futsal side, the Lions probably went in as underdogs but were aggressive, committed, determined & tenacious from the off & in everything they done. After Harper & Letty both went close, A Scarlett L free-kick got us on the scoresheet. The final few minutes saw the Lions dig deep & stand firm.

Overall, it was another great experience for the girls & they gave a great account of themselves against some older, more experienced opposition.

Finally, thanks to James and everyone at Stevenage Futsal for organising the event. A great afternoon of football for all involved! ??
