A competitive battle against a very good opposition. The Pumas went close on a couple of occasions before Broxbourne took the lead. The Pumas responded superbly with Harper grabbing an equaliser & the girls got rewarded for their efforts as Scarlett L grabbed a late winner, reacting quickest on a rebound to smash into the roof of the net.

Game 2 Vs Hitchin Blues

Against now familiar opponents, the Pumas huffed & puffed for large parts but still created several chances which unfortunately they could not take. A lapse in concentration saw Hitchin take the lead but the Pumas did not let their heads drop & grabbed a deserved equaliser through Letty. Whilst the Pumas pushed for a winner late on, they just could not find one.

Game 3 Vs Saffron Walden Reds

The Pumas were up for this game from the start & were unlucky not to take an early lead with Scarlett L twice coming close. The middle part of the game was a battle, with both teams committed in their defending meaning only a couple of half chances were created but the Pumas kept on going. Eva offered lots of defensive protection whilst Poppy was causing havoc with her long throws & this pressure saw Scarlett L make the breakthrough. Moments later Harper scored a superb half volley to secure the win & group top spot.

Cup SemiFinal Vs Aston Clinton Colts

A dominant & tenacious performance from the Pumas that saw the game played in virtually one-half. Letty grabbed a quick-fire hat-trick whilst Eva, Harper & Scarlett L all come close to adding further goals. Daisy & Peggy started several attacks & were alert when called upon.

Cup Final Vs Broxbourne United Panthers

Another competitive battle but unfortunately a couple of early mistakes saw Broxbourne take the lead which put them in a commanding position. Ellie made a couple of excellent saves as Broxbourne piled the pressure on but the Pumas kept of pushing & trying for the equaliser but just couldn’t get past committed & determined defending.

Congratulations to Broxbourne on their victory

A disappointing end to an otherwise excellent tournament. Although they fell just short, the Pumas were much improved compared to recent tournament showings & can be proud of their efforts.
