Learning, Progress, Fitness in Pre Season

U12 Girls St Alban's 7v7 tournament:

Our season started with eagerness but also trepidation. The first 15 min game finished goaless thanks to keeper PC, who ruled her box all afternoon. We talked about what we knew, and how to commit, as a team. The hand break was released, and together we started to perform. Demi (always positionally dangerous ) opened our scoring by pressurising their goalie and area, with EA ruling midfield.

However we switched off in the last minute to allow a draw. Lotti improved markedly through the games and was rewarded with a superb goal in the third, but again we allowed the other team back in for a draw despite MM going from strength to strength and FL sweeping repeatedly. As we reached crunch point, Connie and GH combining better and better on the right, we again got the lead. Whilst playing our best team football we somehow managed to allow the other team to win the game. Our final game was against the group winners, and whilst we looked more solid and together than ever we were second best.

Coach Simon H talked about staying alert, and about the positives of coming into the tournament and getting stronger game by game. Onto Monday, a medal ? up, for the training and raising fitness ?? levels!
