U9s, u12s and U13s

We had three teams out in force today at the St Albans City Tournament.

The u9s who have only been together a couple of months experience there first tournament together and played some super football but most importanly had fun and enjoyed the occasion whilst building on their friendships. They also managed to get a win as well which always helps!

The u13s who last year lost every game in this tournament show how much they have progressed this time around with a vastly improved display in a very hard league table which contained two teams who combined finished runners up of division 1, a team who finished third in division 1, a team who finished foruth in division two and three teams from our league (div 3) two of which finished above us in 2nd and 3rd and the last of which we had two entertaining 0v0 draws with back to back.

Overall the girls won x 1, draw 4, lost 2 and finished 4th out of 8 teams. A little bit more luck and they could and should of finished higher as two more wins were well within reach. All the girls should be super proud of there togetherness, fighting spirit and assure style of play. Cant wait for next season for these girls exciting times.

Last but not least the Under 12s ensured that there was some silverware to be brought home from today. Not only did they get to the final they only went and won it. And in dramatic style as well. Down to the final spot kick Annabelle our goalie stepped up to take the spot kick and calmly sent it into the net. She then had to face the final spot kick before sudden death and well ensure the celebrations began by saving it.

Again brilliant progression from this bunch who have been so dominant this season and getting there just rewards over the runners up from the division above them. Exciting things ahead next season for this crowd. Well done girls!
