Game 1 Vs Wheathamsted Orcas
Frustrating start where we struggled to break down our opponents who kept all players behind the ball and defended the edge of their box where the majority of the game was played, when we did get through the Orcas keeper did well. Eventually we got the breakthrough from an super Eloise corner that ended up off a defender and in.

Game 2 Vs Bury Panthers
Lions had never played the Panthers before now. And the Panthers did themselves proud defending well and using Poppy's pace. Evie opened the scoring getting on the end of the cross to poke it home after some great one touch play from back to front. The second goal was an unfortunate own goal as Miley was judged to have carried the ball over the line having made a good save initially.

Game 3 Vs St Albans Romans
Billed as a likely tricky game didn't end up being that way. As Romans attacked Eloise and Michelle broke up the play and the midfield three of Amelia M, Clara and Keziah ran riot as we played some very one touch fast attractive football which Romans could live with.

Game 4 Vs Harefield Blacks
The girls carried on from the game before, Keziah and Evie got the goals and it should of been many more but for the Harefield Keeper. Rocky made a good save for us near the end.

Game 5 Vs Bedwell Phoenix
The game ended level as we peppered the Bedwell goal but their keeper was totally inspired. Bedwell also rattled the bar early on after Rocky tipped the ball onto the bar. Whilst we were all guns blazing at the other end, Rocky had to be alert as their keeper had an outstanding long kick. We thought Evie opened the scoring with a fine strike but for the Bedwell keeper again to deny us.

Semi final Vs Wewlyn Garden
The girls picked things up after a disappointing result in the last group game and our flowing football came to the for once more. Amelia M and Gabby scoring fine team goals to get us to reach out 5th final of 6 summer tournaments.

Final Vs Harefield Reds
Battle of the Top division sides came to the for in this final. Cagey opening exchanges from both sides who were cancelling each other out. Then came the first of the long launched looping throws.

Debatable if it touched anyone on the way in but a minute or so later we let it happen again. Tough lessons to learn from that we cannot just watch, we have to take responsibility and attack the ball. That way there is no decision to be made.

We still had time to try to get back into the game. Oliveas lung busting run forward to get on the end of Keziahs through ball was well rewarded with a well taken goal. Unfortunately the ball then just didn't fall our way and the time ran out.

As i say, tough lesson to learn from today but I couldn't be more proud of the girls making 5 out of 6 tournament finals this summer.
