This morning saw the Stripes squad show some really determined teamwork in the face of a stronger than expected side from Hertford Town. The game saw a long – awaited return to the pitch for Henry Cable, who has spent the greater part of the season recuperating from a leg fracture. He is to be congratulated on his spirited and positive contribution to the team.
The first quarter saw some robust defending from Harry and Alexander with Liam making two brave saves to keep the opposition at bay. Starting the second quarter a goal behind, the attacking pack of Harry and Henry ably supported Ryan in making two great shots on goal which miraculously the Hertford keeper kept out! Ryan’s patience was rewarded in the third quarter though with the Stripes only goal of the game aided by Miles’s determined tackling and pressing in the midfield. While the goals went Hertford’s way the stripes never stopped pushing – well done everybody!
