This morning saw the Stripes squad show some of the best teamwork I have seen this season, on a heavy Wormley pitch. Looking a bit shell-shocked after conceding a goal in the early minutes, the Stripes soon got organised in the remainder of the first quarter and sharpened their game. Captain Freddie tackling robustly and consistently with Abi and Alexander feeding the ball to Miles up front who just struggled to find a gap in the Wormley defence. The second quarter saw Alexander have a brave run and an early shot at goal, but he failed to find the power to put it into the Wormley net. Some great play followed though with both Zach and Ryan scoring one apiece, to put the Stripes even at half time.
Quarter 3 saw the Stripes take the lead courtesy of a well deserved goal from Zach though the Bury side conceded two goals in Quarter 4, despite the tireless efforts of all the lads and Abi Knight, who truly owned her area as goalkeeper. A great overall performance from the players though, both as individuals but more so as a team which was particularly pleasing to watch. Well done Stripes!
