Great spirit!

In the very special micro-climate that Wodson Park produces, the Whites produced a battling display but were unable to break down a strong Ware side. Due to illness the Whites were a couple short but all the players showed tremendous spirit throughout the four quarters.

The first quarter was a tight affair, Liam starting in goal produced a great display, coming out smartly a few times to deny Ware, Alfie starting at the back positioned himself well throughout the half, and Kieran and Alexander battled well in midfield and put some great tackles in, and Jess led the line well. We were a little unlucky to go in a goal down.

Jess overcame her fears in the second quarter to start in goal and did superbly well, she should be very proud of her display. Liam did well at the back thwarting attack after attack. Alfie in midfield produced a couple of superb drag backs and he and Alexander battled really well against a strong midfield. Kieran did well up front and ran tirelessly. We struggled to get the ball through Wares defence though and they managed to bag a few more before half time.

After half time we tired a little and concentration levels dipped a little and Ware really got on top in the final two quarters, but we still battled well everyone working hard and we were unlucky not to bag a goal in the final quarter.
