A tough match against a well drilled Frontiers squad. Although exceptions weren't high ahead of this one, the boys and girls put out a brave performance and for several periods of the match put up a strong defence. Jaxon Casey captained the squad and took the responsibility of organising the team well, also coming close to scoring on more than one occasion. He forged a good passing relationship with Jack Taylor who was solid in his duties in goal and defence at the start of the match, pushing forwards in the later stages. Zach Knight was also full of energy and drove forward down the wing and towards goal on more than one occasion, also unlucky not to score. There were 'Blacks' debuts for Liam Scott and Jessica Botheras who battled hard in the fast paced game, both had a quarter in goal and were off their line and handling the ball well. Max Finlay also showed he wasn't intimidated by opposition winning tackles and working hard all game.
Sadly, we were unable to score the couple of goals we probably deserved. The opposition pressed us all game long and the Bury team gave valiant display, just tiring towards the end. (not helped by the long grass - we have complained to the council!)
10/10 for effort, we'll take the learnings into training this weekend coming and bounce back!
Well done all.
Martin, Graham and Gerry.
