Back with a bang

By

After half term

A beautiful sunny morning at Presdales Playing Fields set up the perfect conditions for our match Vs Hitchin Belles Blues.

The game started brightly with Hitchin having the first chance with Katie making a good save but we settled quickly and a dangerous corner from Alysia Lawrence was put into the net on three minutes by Madison with a huge deflection helping matters.

The theme of the first half continued as we grew in confidence and dominated the midfield. We continued to spread the play out wide and particularly down the right side Sophie Christer was having a storming game.

Sophie, Faye, Ava, Madison and Alysia all linked up well with neat passing and opened up the defence time and time again. Madison took her tally of goals for the day to 4 with Faye Cargill poking one home from close range to put us 5 goals up at half time.

The only thing which could of made us even more dangerous was to switch the play left as well at times as Georgie and Erin SO were often in space down that flank as well. Just something to think about.

Half time 5 vs 0

Second half we switched things around with many of the players trying different positons. Katie came out of goal with Madison reverting to goal for us but remained with very little todo as our defence rotated between maisy, brooke, meg and erin k mopped up anything which came there way.

Alysia continued to be dangerous with her corners and trickery taking on players for fun and lucy and faye rotating did well as they continued to look up and play forward at every chance.

Chances were had by Maisy, Lydia and both Erins who could but some good goal keeping added to the tally.

Another dangerous and this time quickly taken corner saw katie and alysia play between each other for fun until the time was right for Katie and her trademark left food to curl one home to make it 6-0

We then saw the goal of the day from around 20 yards out Alysia picked up the ball looked up, saw the keeper off her line and on the half volley struck home what should of been our seventh, she could not of struck it better as it hit the crossbar and bounced over the line only before the keeper caught it only for it to of been ruled that it didnt cross the line. Really tough luck for a performance which had deserved that goal.

There was still time for a seventh, another dangerous corner into the box passes exchanged by maisy, faye and then Ava poking home.

Credit to Hitchin who we know have been on the end of a few of these large defeats but there players kept trying to play and never let there heads drop. With their attitudr and smiles on their faces they will only get better.

Players of the match today were Sophie Christer and Madison Lang well done to both.

However really well done to all as we played a very different formation which needed real dicipline at the back and for everyone to play the role well of which the girls did. Top marks to all.
