A team of Sele sixth formers are competing in a local competition to raise money for Bury FC’s All Inclusive team

A group of determined sixth formers at Sele School are competing in the Dragon’s Apprentice Challenge, a local initiative created by Community Voluntary Services for Broxbourne and East Herts, to raise over £1,000 for a chosen cause - Bury Rangers All Inclusive team.

Pitting their wits against 100 other students from sixth forms and schools from the local area, the Sele sixth formers (Team Inferno) have been busy raising money for the All Inclusive team by organising various events within school, including a Halloween Disco, and most recently by selling produce during Ware’s Dickensian Evening.

The students have been mentored along the way by Richard Morris, Founder and CEO of online fundraising platform TheGivingMachine.

In a little over 12 weeks, Team Inferno has managed to raise a staggering £1,000 - and with only a few weeks left remaining - they hope to win the first round of the challenge before being short-listed into the finals and an awards ceremony in March 2018.

Discussing the challenge, Richard Morris said: “I’ve been really impressed by the organisational skills and business acumen of Team Inferno. From organising various events inside and outside of school, to creating an online fundraising page on fundsurfer.com, they’ve shown real teamwork, determination and ambition.”

If you’d like to help Team Inferno during their worthy cause a fundraising page has been created and can be accessed here
