Bury FC Vets team will travel to Germany to play against Hertford's twin city

Bury Rangers FC Vets team take to the skies this weekend, for a friendly game against Germany-based VFL Wittekind Seniors team.

The match will take place this Saturday, April 27th, 4pm at the VFL Stadium.

Flying to Bremen Airport, the Bury FC team will be met by the Mayor of the town, Mr Jens Kuraschinski, then taken to the historic town hall.

The German team have opened the stadium free to all fans, and a big crowd is expected.

Following the game players from both teams will be invited to a barbecue and evening entertainment.

This will be the first leg of the tour, with the German team expected to travel over to Hertford later in the year. The game has been organised as part of the Town Twinning Association, providing a cultural exchange between Hertford and Wildeshausen.

It's unknown at this point in time what the Bury FC Vets strategy will be during this first leg, but word on the soccer grapevine is that Chairman Jason Levy, playing for the Vets, has been seen practising penalty shoot-outs over the past four weeks...Good luck, Bury!
